Volunteering at MWH We welcome you to join our Home as a volunteer! 1. Community Involvement Programme Example:
- Spring Cleaning
- Painting
- Adopt a room
- Fund raising projects
2. Provide Individual Tuition lesson - Tuition is conducted from Mon to Thurs at 8.00pm to 9.30pm. Kindly contact MWH for other times to suit your schedule. 3. Organise Outings / workshops/ outdoor programmes/ Camping for the residents MWH welcomes Tertiary students, workers or any other group agencies Example:
- Educational trips such as Zoo, Fish Farm etc.
- ½ day workshops which targets to achieve certain objectives/ values/ life skills
- Day/ Overnight Camps
Organising outings during school holidays is highly recommended. If you wish to organize any event for the residents during June 09 school holiday, kindly email us the details before 31 May 09. (Blink) 4. As a Befriender Minimum age: 21 years An interview will be conducted. If suitable, MWH will match you with an appropriate resident. It is a requirement that a volunteer would be screened by MCYS beforehe/she starts volunteer work.
5. Conduct service learning projects Discussion will be held prior to commencement of project. MWH is open to your creative ideas to conduct programmes / projects with the residents. Example: - Enrichment programmes like skill based workshops, literacy classes etc.
- Camping, treasure hunting, heritage trails, etc
6. Take part in Fund-raising projects Example: - Flag Day / Streets Sales
- Welfare Fiesta
- To seek donations / sponsorship for meal, food ration for Hari Raya contributions, residents’ attire, outings etc.

7. Participate in 'Adopt a Room' project for our new premises. MWH is shifting to our new premises in the late 2009 and require lots of refurbishment work. You are strongly encouraged to 'Adopt a Room' and design it with your own concept.  The rooms are: Music /Art /Gymnasium/ AVA room Dormitory Tuition/ Library Guest Admin (Reception) / Counseling/ Sick Bay
8. Be a member of Event Management Team for MWH Book Project. Come and Join Us! You will have a great fun! (Blink) No experience needed and open to all races, ages and professions. What we need is your passion and drive to be part of this project J. Gives us a call and will let you in details. What is Book Project? As part of fund raising project, MWH is publishing a book; featuring 20 successful life stories of former and existing residents. The launch will be held tentatively in Sep 09, in conjunction of MWH 20th anniversary.
What you are expected to do? A briefing session will be done in advance. You will be attached to an experienced volunteer or a staff who will guide you along. Please contact MWH for more details.
