THE  PIONEER  ISLAMIC COLLEGE IN SINGAPORE TO PRODUCE GRADUATE DEGREE LEVEL HOLDERS IN DAKWAH MANEGEMENT

MUHAMMADIYAH ISLAMIC COLLEGE (KIM) was launched in July 2000. It is a partnership between Muhammadiyah Association of Singapore and The Islamic Institute of Imam Bonjol, Padang, West Sumatera, Indonesia (IAIN Imam Bonjol). The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 15 April 2000.

INTRODUCTION

In collaboration with Institusi Agama Islam Negara (IAIN) Indonesia University Imam Bonjol,Padang (one of the top ten in Islamic University in Indonesia), Kolej Islam Muhammadiyah is offering students interested to pursue or upgrade their Islamic knowledge a Degree  and Diploma course in Tarbiyah , Dakwah. And Arabic.

OBJECTIVES

• To develop Dai ( Islamic Missionary) equipped with Islamic professionalism,  holistic and comprehensive  dakwah knowledge applicable and adaptable to the current, future, local and global context of Islamic needs whilst maintaining the sacred fundamental of Syari’ah.
• To develop Muslim individuals with broad Islamic knowledge based on Iman, Ilmu and Amal.
• To develop and produce Muslims Intellectuals whose knowledge and leadership will enable them to face the challenges in life  with Islamic holistic approach.

SUCCESS
Its major success is the introduction of Degree Programme in 2004.

Muhammadiyah Islamic College was established since 15th April 2000 with the signing of memorandum of agreement with Imam Bonjol Islamic Institute from West Sumatra, Indonesia to conduct a diploma and degree programme in Islamic Studies at Muhammadiyah Islamic College in Singapore. Since it’s establishment in 2000 it has produced numbers of graduates whom now teaches and manages at various Mosques and Islamic Education Centres in Singapore.And this is our second graduation as the first one was held on 31st May 2003 at Imam Bonjol Islamic Institute in Sumatra ,Indonesia.And we are pioneer in Singapore to produce gradutes with degree level in Islamic Studies.
